Higher order adhesive effects in composite beams

چکیده
Composite adhesive bonded joints are widely used in various industrial and technological applications, including aerospace, electronics, biomedical, automotive, ship building construction. In this paper, the attention is focused on layered structures consisting of two adherent beams together by an layer. For such structures, a modeling approach based classical Timoshenko beam theory conjunction with model imperfect interface introduced. This approach, recently proposed authors contest linear elastic adherents materials, small strains displacements theory, models asymptotic behavior thin interphase at higher orders for both cases hard soft materials unified (Rizzoni et al., 2014). Accounting order terms expansions adhesive, generalizes simpler spring-type law or case perfect contact between layers. The methodology to evaluate stresses joint configurations subjected bending moment transverse shear loading. Numerical simulations produced results show good agreements those obtained through finite element analysis.

Wavelet based spectral finite element for analysis of coupled wave propagation in higher order composite beams
In this paper, a spectrally formulated wavelet finite element is developed and is used to study coupled wave propagation in higher order composite beams. The beam element has four degrees of freedom at each node, namely axial and transverse displacements, shear and contraction. The formulation is used to perform both frequency and time domain analysis. The formulation is similar to conventional...
متن کاملOrder parameters with higher dimensionful composite fields
We discuss the possibility of the spontaneous symmetry breaking characterized by order parameters with higher dimensionful composite fields. By analyzing general Ginzburg-Landau potential for a complex scalar field φ = φ1 +iφ2 with O(2) symmetry, we demonstrate that a phase characterized by 〈φ21 − φ 2 2〉 6 = 0 with 〈φ1〉 = 〈φ2〉 = 0 is realized in a certain parameter region. To clarify the drivin...
متن کاملToward Higher Order Particle Simulation of Space-Charge-Dominated Beams*
The intense particle beams to be used as drivers for Heavy Ion Inertial Fusion exhibit dynamics which are dominated by space-charge (abbreviated s-c) forces, rather than by thermal pressure (as in most traditional accelerator applications). Such beams are non-neutral plasmas, and the particle-in-cell technique (with the addition of detailed models for the externally applied fields and the domai...
متن کاملHigher-order vector beams produced by photonic-crystal lasers.
We have successfully generated vector beams with higher-order polarization states using photonic-crystal lasers. We have analyzed and designed lattice structures that provide cavity modes with different symmetries. Fabricated devices based on these lattice structures produced doughnut-shaped vector beams, with symmetries corresponding to the cavity modes. Our study enables the systematic analys...
متن کاملHigher-order stimulated Brillouin scattering with nondiffracting beams.
We report on an experimental investigation of stimulated Brillouin scattering pumped with a Bessel beam. Owing to the extended interaction length along the diffraction-free propagation, higher-order Stokes components are generated in a bulk Brillouin-active medium with odd and even orders propagating in opposite directions. The spatial, spectral, and temporal properties of the interacting waves...
